Celebration

 What do you celebrate?

 There are many reasons
for doing this and
perhaps many to refrain
from doing so.

People celebrate at
specific times within
their lives, they celebrate
birthdays and Christmas, rarely
upon the same day.

They celebrate achievements
which they have worked for
and after all the hard work
attained their goal.

Sometimes we also
celebrate the return of a loved one
who has been away for some time
which is always a joyous occasion
and a time of celebration.

What celebrations have you
had within the last few
years? Have there been
many or few?

Sometimes it can be
hard to celebrate with others;
they have cause to celebrate
but you may have many
reasons not to.

Within the Church there
can be many reasons
to celebrate, as the Church
is made up of many people and so
within these can be reasons to celebrate.

Though the same applies within
the Church; we know we should
celebrate with others, but is
that always what we feel like doing?

We may ourselves have cause
within the Church to celebrate
something that has happened,
or some good news to share.
We also want others to join in
that celebration as it is
a joyous occasion for us.

There is promised within
the bible a great time
of celebration when
we eventually meet Jesus and
others who have gone before us,
those who we may have known
and those we did not.

So let us always seek to
celebrate now with others,
let us enjoy the celebrations which
we are a part of or are
for and because of us, and
let us always celebrate
our relationship with God.
