Calm
How easy is it to stay calm?
 When you think of calmness
what immediately comes
to your mind?
When we consider what
it means to remain calm
there is perhaps more
than one thing that
we think of.
Perhaps the most obvious
is to remain calm when
confronted by many possible
situations which could cause anger.
In those circumstances
some would find it very
difficult to remain calm, and to
not give in to anger or rage.
We can sometimes struggle
to remain calm when faced with
something that could cause
alarm, panic or fear.
Now God, in the Old Testament
did at times respond to the Israelites'
disobedience with anger. Though
his anger is always justified.
As a Christian, to remain calm
in many circumstances is
what is best, as not doing
so could bring greater problems.
There is such a thing as righteous anger
which is only right when it
follows God's nature, when
we get angry at injustice or sin, disobedience
and faithlessness.
Yet besides this, we should seek to
be and remain as calm as we can, as
this shows many things, to others and to God
It shows others that despite the
situations and circumstances
that we are in and going through,
despite the many problems and
adversities that we have and may
face, this shows a trust in God.
It shows this also to God a trust
in him, in his guidance, in his strength,
in his provision, in his help, in his
wisdom, in his ability to comfort us
and it also shows a trust in his Church.
So though the seas may be rough,
the wind may blow against us,
let us within ourselves remain calm
in the knowledge that God is
always for us, always there to still
the storms of life.
Peace be with us always. Great message.
