Anger
What makes you Angry?
Anger is something we
perhaps don't like to think
about too much, but
this is something which
we experience very often
within our lives.
The question is though
what makes you angry?
There are many things that
irritate us, but do not
necessarily make us angry.
Some people struggle with
anger more than others,
yet some seem to not get
angry at all.
Of course that is not the case;
they do get angry, they
just do not openly show and
display this anger.
Do we believe that it is
a sin to experience anger
within our lives?
If we believe this to be the
truth then we are mistaken.
God himself does experience
anger and has shown anger.
We can see this in the
Old Testament on many occasions
with his discipline of the
children of Israel.
So as God himself gets
angry and God is incapable
of sin as it is against his
very nature, then anger within
itself is not a sin.
It is what type of anger and
also what is the target of
that anger which causes it
to be rightful or sinful.
If we see injustice and it makes
us angry, it is not wrong as
this also angers God; yet
if we get angry simply because
things do not go our way,
this is unwise anger.
We need to learn to
control our emotions more,
so as these do not control us
and lead us into sinful anger.
This comes by submitting our
emotions and our anger
before God.
So let us experience not
wrongful anger but
righteous anger within
life, but at the same time,
not allowing any form
of anger to control us but
we need to control it.
