REJECTION
Have you ever known rejection?
It is very likely
that everyone has at
some point within their
lives known rejection.
This can come in many
different forms and can
also affect us in many
possible ways.
People can receive
rejection when attempting
to start employment
at another company;
they are rejected for one
reason or another.
Also should an individual
desire a loan from the bank
this also can be rejected
by the bank.
Then of course there
is rejection of yourself
as a person, you can
be rejected by people
on account of how you look,
how you dress and so on.
People can also be
rejected in matters of the
heart, one person may
not feel the same way
as another, and so one is
rejected.
As Christians we also know
that rejection can also
come from the things that
we believe, people reject not
only what we believe but also
Christians as a whole on
account of our beliefs.
People also reject the
good news of the gospel
of peace that we bring to them.
They reject truth for a lie.
It was no different at the
time of Christ; many of the
words that he spoke were
rejected by those who should
have openly accepted the truth.
This included the Pharisees,
Sadducees, teachers of the
law and the Jews who
initially followed him.
The same applied to the
apostles following the
ascension of Christ
Jesus, they knew rejection
in many ways.
We should therefore within
our lives, not expect any
different when we share
the good news and
live as the bible teaches us.
We also within all of this,
need to learn not to let this
rejection affect our walk
with God and also
our work for him.
There always will be
some who realise and accept
the truth and embrace this
themselves.
So when rejection comes,
let us live our lives with
the strength of and from
Christ Jesus our Lord.
