Weight
What do we think of?
When we hear or
think about the word
'weight' there are
perhaps a few things
that we may think of.
For some, 'weight' brings
an understanding of
going to a gym and
lifting weights in many
different ways and sizes.
For others it may bring
an understanding of
measurements needed for
a certain recipe in cooking.
Then for some it can also
mean being under this, in an
understanding of having a
weight to bear, mentally
and emotionally.
This can come in the form of
many different things and
circumstances.
In the Church we can have
weights, not necessarily
the actual physical, but
it is a weight.
This can be sometimes
those who struggle with
certain things within their
lives, it can be problems
that they have
or even sin.
There can be also the
weight of a task that
an individual has within
the life of the church to do,
which they may find as a
weight that they may like
or desire to be lifted.
There can also be
the weight of
responsibility for those
who are involved in
leadership within the church
in whatever form that may take.
Jesus himself had weight
in ways upon him,
he had the weight of
the reason he came,
which the weight was most
felt and known in the
garden of Gethsemane
and then upon the cross.
He had the weight of the
physical cross which he
carried and the weight of
that which the cross
symbolized, which
of course was sin.
He bore this weight
willingly for and because
of his eternal, infinite love for us.
When we struggle under certain
weights, let us remember the weight
that Jesus bore for us
and look to him in. So with
whatever weight we struggle with and in,
we then can continue to serve him and
others in renewed effort and strength.
A great message to inspire Christians to journey on and push passed the weight and remember the weight of the cross and how Jesus died for us. Truly inspiration message.
