EFFECTIVENESS

 Do we have effectiveness?

 This is something
which everyone in
all walks of life
desire to know and have
within their lives.

Everyone wants the things
that they plan and work
at to be effective, they
want them to succeed.

But the thing that all
want, is that whatever it
is that they are working
at and for, to have
the intended result.

What if the outcome
that they desired and
hoped for is not
quite achieved, is it
then classed as ineffective?

Or if it is an
ongoing project, if it
is not achieving the
expected continual results
is it completely ineffective?

What of within the Church?
What do we see as
effectiveness? How
also do we judge whether
something is effective
or not?

What of the individuals who
make up the Church? How
does each individual see
themselves in relation
to effectiveness, both in their
work that they do for
God, and within their lives

Sometimes individuals within
the Church measure the
effectiveness of the Church
against that which they see of others.

Likewise, some also measure
the effectiveness of themselves,
what they do, and
how they live against others.

The leaders within the Church
also have to judge effectiveness
of all activities within the
Church to see if they can in
some way be improved upon.

But within all of this the
final judge of effectiveness
within our lives and within
our work for God,
will be God himself.

How does he judge our
effectiveness? Not always
from the result that we
hoped for or intended,
but by our hearts,
our attitude, faithfulness
and obedience.

So as we think of
ours and others' effectiveness,
let us seek to have more
of the attitude we should have
when looking at this,
which is more the attitude and mind
of Jesus.

  1. Live to be effective as a light for God in and throughout our lives and we will see a change in ourselves and our lives if we live ever continuously for God and doing his works in our lives.
