Favourite

Do you have Favourites?  One thing that is certain in our lives and that is throughout them, we are sure to have favourites. We can and most likely do have a favourite type of food or drink, or at times we say that we have more than one favourite of these. We can have a favourite  television program or a favourite film which we love to watch, or perhaps a favourite genre of these. Also people can and do have a favourite type of music which they like to listen to, with this a favourite radio station that play such. People can have favourite sports which either they enjoy to participate in or love to watch. There are many things within our lives as Christians, where we can and do have favourites. In Church we also can have a favourite of something, there can be a favourite event which you like to go to, a favourite song you like to sing, again there are many possible favourites we can have. Sometimes p

Eternity

What do we think of this?  When we consider eternity, what thoughts do we have and what are they based upon? Many people have differing views on eternity, even those who do not believe in a God have at least a viewpoint on this. Some simply do not believe that they have an eternity. They see their existence  and that of others as being over once their time in this life is over. There are those who also believe that there is nothing that is  eternal, the individual or the physical universe. Whereas some believe in an eternity but do not have a definite belief in God. We who have a belief, faith hope and trust in God do of course believe in an eternity. We believe in an  eternal God, who is El-Olam- the  everlasting God or  God of eternity. We accept this and believe this, though we may not fully understand or comprehend it. We know that we have an eternity with God, yet we also know that th

Belief

What do you Believe?  Everyone has different  things that they believe within their lives. People have a belief in something and also people can have a  belief for something. Peoples beliefs though are not always based upon truth or what can be attained. S ometimes people  can believe a deception or a lie, they can also believe for something within their own lives which they may not yet realise will never happen. Sometimes people can have a strong belief in something or for something, whereas others may not have the same level of belief in these things. The question though is, what do you believe in and what do you believe for? As Christians we of course must and need to have a belief in God. We also must have a belief in what we read within the bible and we need to have  a belief in answer to prayer. Within all of these is so many different things we  need to understand more of, so as then we can gras

Weight

What do we think of?  When we hear or  think about the word 'weight' there are  perhaps a few things  that we may think of. For some, 'weight' brings an understanding of  going to a gym and  lifting weights in many  different ways and sizes. For others it may bring an understanding of  measurements needed for  a certain recipe in cooking. Then for some it can also mean being under this, in an  understanding of having a  weight to bear, mentally and emotionally.  This can come in the form of  many different things and  circumstances. In the Church we can have weights, not necessarily  the actual physical, but  it is a weight. This can be sometimes those who struggle with certain things within their  lives, it can be problems that they have  or even sin. There can be also the weight of a task that an individual has within the life of the church to do,  which they may find as a  weig

The World

What do we see as the world?   We live in the world, we live on the world, but what different  things do we think of  as the world? Some think of the world as the earth. This planet is so  amazing in its splendour, y et has been in some ways marred by man. Others see the world in a more philosophical context as the entire physical universe which contains so much more. Whereas others see the world as part of the whole population of the planet,  with this others see it referring to the sinful state of man. Mankind can in this way be  seen as the world; within the church you may have heard preached about the people who are in the world. We live in the world but are not of this world,  this is because we are  here for a time only,  yet as we know  Christ Jesus as our Lord  and Saviour, this world is not truly our home. The understanding of the  Great Commission- to  go into the world, this  can be seen

Pride

What do we have pride in?  Pride is something that we all, at times within our lives have, and also perhaps struggle with. Some have pride in their careers, they have pride  in the success which they have attained through their efforts. Perhaps others display pride within their other achievements in their lives such as high qualifications. For others it can be sporting or other recreational  activities which they take pride in. Whereas others take pride in their families,  in their families success such as their children's. Pride can be sometimes hard for an individual to recognise within themselves, b ut easier to see within others. The Bible gives us an  understanding of pride.  When looking at relevant scriptures we find that pride can be both wrong  for us to have, and yet also it  can be acceptable as well. The problem very often with pride is when it is  false pride in oneself, or also whe

Hope

Do you Hope?  This can be something that everyone can relate to. It is something we all do and have done. We hope for many things within our lives,  sometimes we hope for things we know are possible.  Whereas upon other occasions we hope for things that are out of our reach and at that moment in time unobtainable to us. We can hope for things which are good for us, but then sometimes people can also hope for things that are harmful in someway to us or others. The hope that we have in God should be something that never stops and  never diminishes.  We have a hope that is solid, sure and steadfast.  Our hope is not based on  what people see as hope. Hope many see as just a thing that is only  possible and in some cases very unlikely. But the hope that we have with God and in God is not the  'I Hope so' h ope of the world, b ut it is a hope that is guaranteed. This hope is of course i

Friends

Do we have many True Friends?  Friends are something that we may have many of within our lives. But how many of the friends that we have throughout our lives can we truly say are what we can call true friends or close friends. Children at an early age make friends, usually quite easily, then just as easily they say that they are not friends with one of those other children. Older children sometimes have slightly fewer friends,  some have more some have less.   Then as adults we generally are far more careful with those who we really consider to be friends.  How many of the friends  that you have known  throughout your life can you truly say that you can trust with anything,  whether it be a task or even a secret? Popularity in life tends to bring more friends to an individual, but are they actually real friends? Within the church we may find that there are some  that we are closer to than othe
