Walking

 Where do you walk?

One of the things that we
have to do many times
in our lives is to walk, if we
are able.

It is perhaps something that
we take for granted and
rarely appreciate the actual
ability to walk.

Then sometimes, as we walk
we do not appreciate the
surroundings, or the journey.

Sometimes we walk with purpose,
sometimes we do not;
most of the time though
we have an
intended destination.

How far that destination
is can very often be
the deciding factor as to
whether we choose to walk
or take the car, bus, train or taxi.

We also walk for pleasure just
to enjoy the walk, the sunshine,
the beauty of nature and
also the company of others
who join us.

Christianity is a walk;
it is a continuous walk,
one that we at times are
aware of and at others not.

We at times on this walk
look around and do not
know which way to
continue on our way.

Sometimes though, through
this walk, our legs feel
heavy and our steps are
slow. We struggle up what
seems like many steep inclines and
rarely does the path seem easy for us.

On this walk we sometimes
pay no attention to where
we are going and so
occasionally we have to
retrace our steps.

But sometimes some can
deliberately turn back or go the wrong
way on this walk with God, and
it may take some time for them
to turn back again.

What we have to realise on
this walk that it is with God,
and he is always with us on this
journey though our lives.

He will never leave us alone,
though at times we seem to
search for him but not find him;
this generally is because he
is calling us back to the right
path we should be on.

Let us then always seek
to continue this walk with him,
enjoying and appreciating what
we see, what we find, and
what we experience along the way.
