Sacrifice

 Is it hard to do? 

 Sacrifice is something 

that we may at times find 

hard to do and perhaps 

at other times it may come 

a little easier to us. 

But within our lives what 

sort of sacrifices do we usually 

make and give?

Sometimes we sacrifice our time 

to help others, or also 

we can sacrifice our money to 

do the same. 

Others may sacrifice their 

ambitions, hopes and dreams, 

perhaps for many different reasons. 

At times we can sacrifice our 

choices for another's. 

There are so many more ways 

that we can and do freely 

sacrifice many things. 

But how easy do we find 

ourselves able to willingly offer or  

give that sacrifice. When 

we are asked to give something 

or give up on something 

that we need, or believe we need, 

sacrifice can be far more difficult.

In Church life we sacrifice our 

money but also our time

as we attend church meetings 

or events. 

However when it comes to 

a greater sacrifice that 

God asks of us, how easy is that? 

But also how do we respond?

Sometimes we are obedient 

and respond to what is asked 

with a submissive heart and 

attitude. 

Other times we do not, and 

hold back or onto whatever it may be.

Let us though always as we 

are asked to sacrifice, remember 

Jesus who gave the ultimate 

sacrifice for us, 

which we remember as we meet 

together. 

In view of his sacrifice let us 

ourselves be more willing and 

also obedient, just as 

Jesus himself showed both 

of these through his life and 

His completed sacrifice.
