Lost
Have you ever lost something?
This is most probably
a very easy question to answer,
as all of us most
likely, very often will
have lost something.
We very often lose things
which upon careful
searching and considering
where we last saw the
lost item or when we last
used it, generally we
find it.
How infuriating is it though
when you lose something which
at that moment in time
you really do need?
And also how often
is that just the case?
But what if we lose
something that is of
great value to us,
what then is our reaction?
We know that before
we were Christians
we were lost, we were
living as one that was lost.
It was only as we came to
realise the truth
of Christ Jesus that we
became as something
that has been found.
Yet as we look at some of
the parables that
Jesus spoke, when teaching
he refers to things that
have been lost.
Think of those things you
would not wish to
lose and to what lengths
you would go to find them.
What price would
you be willing to pay
to get the lost thing back?
God saw us in this way,
he values us above
what we may consider
or realise.
This is why he gave
his only son to find
that which was lost.
And that is us.
So next time that you
lose something,
consider God's love
for you in the
price he paid for you.
Without Jesus we are lost and with him we are found, this message is good at helping us know how much we need God in our lives. We are lost without him and we lose ourselves but when we have him we should never let him go. Gods love is strong. Amen.
