Pride

 What do we have pride in?

 Pride is something that
we all, at times within
our lives have, and also
perhaps struggle with.

Some have pride in their
careers, they have pride 
in the success which they
have attained through
their efforts.

Perhaps others display
pride within their other
achievements in their lives
such as high qualifications.

For others it can be sporting
or other recreational 
activities which they
take pride in.

Whereas others take pride
in their families, 
in their families success
such as their children's.

Pride can be sometimes
hard for an individual to
recognise within themselves,
but easier to see within others.

The Bible gives us an 
understanding of pride. 
When looking at relevant
scriptures we find that
pride can be both wrong 
for us to have, and yet also it 
can be acceptable as well.

The problem very often with
pride is when it is 
false pride in oneself, or
also when with pride their is
boasting or arrogance.

Pride can not only 
elevate the individual within
their own minds, but also
it can cast others down sometimes,
seeing others as of less
value than themselves.

Pride though is something that
the apostle Paul had for
the church in Corinth, 
even though that church had
many problems.

We need to test our actions
yet also to test our hearts, 
our attitudes to all we do,
especially for God.

We should not compare what
we do to that which
others do.
And so only compare
ourselves with the Word Of God

Then if we are right in
what we do and the attitude in
which we do it, we then
can and are justified in
taking pride in ourselves.

So let us live
not in false pride but
in the truth
of God's Word.

There's never enough TIME

 Where does time go?  One of the things that we  can always be certain of in life,  is that time passes.  Time doesn't always pass  in the way we want.  Why is that time seems to  at times pass very quickly,  yet at other times it goes  very slowly?  Usually this is because  during those times when  time seems to drag we are  perhaps doing something which  we do not enjoy or is monotonous.   Whereas upon other occasions  when time races away from us  is usually when we want something  to last longer and so because of this  it seems to go quickly.  Within church events and church life  this can also and very often is the case.  There can be things that need to be  done which we ourselves and  many others do not wish to do.  With this we either avoid doing them  or if we do actually decide to ...

Something New

 Do you try anything new?  When a thing is new, it holds interest and can catch the attention of many. Whereas, when something is not new it needs sometimes a new way of doing it, something that will catch peoples' attention once again. What new things catch your attention? This can  be different for many people, a s people have different  interests, likes and dislikes. For some it can be a new car, for others it can be a new house, or possibly  for some it could be a new job. It may also be a new type of food which you have never tasted before, or a new hobby.
